New York, New York (March 19, 2012)– Oscilloscope Laboratories announced today that it has acquired North American rights to Dain Said’s festival hit BUNOHAN: RETURN TO MURDER. The film had its world premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and has gone on to play other esteemed festivals such as Rotterdam, Palm Springs, Fantastic Fest, and the Taipei International Golden Horse Film Festival, where it garnered a Netpac Award.

Directed by Dain Said, BUNOHAN: RETURN TO MURDER focuses on the dark relationship between three estranged brothers who end up fighting for their lives when they are called back to their village by their dying father.

BUNOHAN: RETURN TO MURDER has also sold to Universal Pictures for a slew of territories including UK, Germany, France, Australia and New Zealand. It was recently released theatrically in its home country of Malaysia, playing commercially to a nationwide audience.

The film is produced by Nandita Solomon of Apparat in conjunction with Tim Kwok of Convergence Entertainment, who also serves as Co-Producer. Traction Media negotiated the deal on behalf of the filmmakers. Easternlight Films represent the film on the international front.
